Who it’s good for
- Anyone wanting to relax and unwind
- Skin that feels dry after sun, salt water or wind
- Holidaymakers wanting a beachside treat
- People who like a natural, lightly scented oil
What happens in your session
Your therapist uses long, flowing strokes and gentle kneading with coconut oil. With an hour or more they’ll work over your back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders; shorter sessions focus on the areas you choose. You stay covered with towels except for the area being worked on.
Pressure
Soft to medium, with firmer work on tight spots if you’d like — similar to a Combination Massage. It isn’t a deep tissue massage; for that, book Sports & Deep Tissue or Remedial.
Health fund
Not health fund claimable. If you want to claim, book Remedial Massage.
Quick questions
I’m allergic to coconut — can I still have a massage?
Please don’t book this one. A Relaxing Oil Massage is similar — tell your therapist about your allergy.
Can it be firmer, like deep tissue?
It can mix in firmer work on tight spots, like a Combination Massage, but it isn’t deep tissue. For deep work, book Sports & Deep Tissue or Remedial Massage.
Will I be oily afterwards?
Coconut oil soaks in well, but your skin will feel soft for a while. Loose clothes are a good idea.
Which length should I book?
An hour is ideal for a full-body massage.
